Dr. Analise Douglas, interventional cardiologist at Jackson Heart Clinic and board member at Jackson Heart Foundation, says, “Something the AHA calls Life’s Essential Eight” are things that you can do every single day to make sure that you are living a healthy lifestyle! This includes managing your blood pressure, managing your blood sugar, making sure that you’re eating well, and also make sure that you are exercising regularly.”

Life's Essential 8 are the key measures for improving and maintaining cardiovascular health, as defined by the American Heart Association. Emphasizing better cardiovascular health plays a vital role in lowering the risk for heart disease, stroke, and various other significant health issues.
